What are Magento 2 Extensions and when do they beat custom development?

Magento 2 Extensions are ready-made add-ons that extend what your shop can do. Magento delivers a strong foundation of catalog, cart, checkout and customer account. Everything beyond that is up to the shop owner: a progress bar to free shipping, a quote request instead of the buy button, a withdrawal button in the customer account or an export your accounting can read. That is exactly what Magento 2 Extensions are for. Technically they are modules that hook into Magento through its extension points instead of changing the core.

The alternative is custom development. It pays off when your process is truly unique, for example a special pricing logic or an interface to an ERP system. For tasks that thousands of shops share in similar form, a ready-made solution almost always makes more sense. You get a tested function that already runs in a shop, and you do not pay for a first draft but only for the finished result. At Mironsoft every price is listed individually: the cheapest module costs from EUR 79, the B2B Ecommerce Solution as the most comprehensive module costs from EUR 799.

A simple rule of thumb helps with the decision. First check whether your requirement exists as a Magento 2 Extension and whether a module covers most of your wish. Then take the module and have the gap adapted. Only when the core of your business must be modeled in the shop and no extension fits, you build from scratch. This route is faster, easier to budget and easier to maintain, because the module is kept up to date with Magento updates.

On this page you see all 160 modules at a glance. The product list above shows each one with its price, and the texts below help you choose: which categories exist, what to check before buying, how to combine modules and what ends up on the invoice.

Which categories of Magento 2 Extensions are there?

What to check before buying Magento 2 Extensions

The most important point is compatibility. All Magento 2 Extensions in this range carry the badge "Magento 2.4.x". Still check which exact version your shop runs and state it in your request. For shops with a heavily modified base, clarify before installation whether other modules touch the same places.

The second point is your theme. 112 of 160 modules carry the badge "Hyvä Ready". That means they are prepared for shops using the Hyvä Themes frontend, which works with Alpine.js and Tailwind instead of jQuery and Knockout. If you use Hyvä, prefer modules with this badge. If you use another theme, clarify beforehand whether the module runs there. A missing badge does not make a module useless, it only means we will not guess for you.

Third comes interplay. Each module extends the shop at certain points, and several modules can touch the same place, for example the cart or the order view. Some modules are explicitly designed to work together. The GDPR Compliance complements the cookie banner and account deletion without duplicating their functions. Before buying several modules, ask about overlaps instead of installing two solutions for the same problem.

Fourth is maintenance. Magento receives regular updates, and every update can affect extensions. Plan who applies updates, who tests afterwards and who answers when something breaks. In your own project this is covered by maintenance and support or a maintenance package. Anyone who buys Magento 2 Extensions without this question stands alone at the next update.

How does buying Magento 2 Extensions at Mironsoft work?

Our modules are not a download to install yourself. We set them up in your shop personally. That takes a short exchange but saves you the installation and the troubleshooting. The offer is aimed at business owners (B2B).

01

Choose modules

You pick the modules that fit your shop on the product or category pages. If you are unsure, the checklist further down helps.

02

Request with shop data

You tell us your Magento version, theme and the modules you want. That shows us whether Hyvä adjustments or coordination are needed.

03

Quote and payment

You receive a quote for business customers. Payment is by invoice or prepayment.

04

Personal setup

We install and configure the modules in your shop.

05

Operation and updates

After that the module runs in daily use. For updates and changes you can use our support or a maintenance package.

If you prefer to compare everything in peace first, the pricing logic of all services is on the pricing page.

How can Magento 2 Extensions be combined sensibly?

The biggest effect rarely comes from a single module but from a small group working toward a common goal. Four examples from our categories show what that can look like. All functions come from the respective product descriptions.

More revenue at checkout. The Abandoned Cart sends a multi-step reminder series and can add a discount coupon with minimum order value and validity. The Free Shipping Bar shows live how much is missing for free shipping. The Estimated Delivery Date shows a calculated delivery date on the product page, cart, checkout and in the order email. Together they cover the path from cart to purchase, from the category Checkout & Cart.

A B2B shop with approvals. The B2B Ecommerce Solution provides company accounts with sub-users, roles and a registration approval. With Order Approval Rules you define which orders by product, category or order value only proceed after approval. Through Request for Quote selected customers negotiate individual prices, and Hide Price hides prices for certain customer groups. More in the category Sales & Partners and on the B2B online shop page.

A shop with clean data protection. Cookie Consent uses four cookie categories and Google Consent Mode v2. The Google Tag Manager loads only after cookie consent according to its description. The GDPR Compliance logs consents and lets the customer export their data. Which duties apply to your shop is a question for legal counsel, the modules only cover the technical side. See Legal and Tracking & Social.

A faster back office. With the Product Grid Inline Editor you change price, quantity and status directly in the grid. The Product Mass Action edits many products at once. The Admin Action Log records who changed what in the backend and when, and Advanced Permissions limits who may see what at all. The categories Admin & Backend and Orders fit here.

Which Magento 2 Extensions help with which goal?

If you think from the goal, you find the right modules faster than through category names. These examples show everyday shop tasks and the modules that address them.

Be found more easily

The SEO Suite (from EUR 339) bundles 13 SEO functions, including hreflang and JSON-LD. The FAQ generates FAQPage markup automatically according to its description. More on the Magento SEO page.

Sell better on the product page

Sticky Add to Cart keeps the buy button visible, Product Labels sets labels by rules, Tier Price shows tier prices as a table.

Find things in the catalog

The Layered Navigation offers a price slider and swatch filters, the Elasticsearch Suite forgives typos and knows synonyms.

Handle orders cleanly

Auto Invoice & Shipment creates invoice and shipment by rules, RMA guides returns through a fixed process, Order Status Tracking shows the shipment in the customer account.

Which Magento 2 Extensions do B2C shops need, which B2B merchants?

Which Magento 2 Extensions make sense depends strongly on the business model. A consumer shop lives on trust and incentive, a shop for merchants on processes and terms. The following combinations are suggestions, not mandatory bundles.

Consumer shop. On the product page Product Labels and the Size Chart give orientation. The Exit Popup detects the moment of cart abandonment according to its description and can offer a coupon or free shipping. The Review Reminder sends the review request after a configurable waiting time and excludes products that were already reviewed. If you want to retain regular customers, look at Loyalty Points. More in the categories Marketing & Promotions and Product Page.

Merchant and wholesale shop. Here terms and approvals count. The Minimum Order Amount sets minimum order values per customer group, the Customer Approval holds new registrations until you approve them, and the Quick Order accepts order lists by CSV upload. The Product Attachments shows data sheets and manuals by customer group, so B2B documents are visible to merchants only. Where a price should not be public, Request Price helps. The categories Sales & Partners and Documents and the B2B online shop page give an overview.

If your operation includes an ERP system, think about data exchange early. Simple exports are covered by the Export Order and the modules in the category Import, Export & Feeds. For continuous synchronization with an ERP you need a dedicated ERP interface.

How do you introduce Magento 2 Extensions without risk?

New Magento 2 Extensions never belong on the live system first. The safe route starts with a copy of your shop, a staging or test system where you set up and run through the modules. Only when ordering, customer account and all affected pages work cleanly there does the change move to the live site. Before any installation on the live system a full backup of files and database belongs, and the work should take place in a quiet time window, not in the holiday rush.

Install modules one by one or in small groups and test after each step. If something breaks after the third extension, you know right away where to look. After setup, check the typical paths: product page, cart, checkout, order confirmation, customer account and emails. With several store views this applies once per language. Also note that configurations, caches and indexes must be rebuilt after changes before the result is right in the frontend.

Measure before and after. If you introduced the Magento 2 Extensions with a goal, such as more completed orders or fewer inquiries, note the matching metric before the start. Only then can you see later whether the module paid off. The tracking from the category Tracking & Social delivers the data when it is set up cleanly.

Which mistakes are common when using Magento 2 Extensions?

Too many modules at once. Every module brings code, configuration and often its own frontend files. With ten extensions at the same time you can hardly attribute errors and you burden load time. Begin with whatever solves your biggest problem.

Duplicate functions. Magento 2 Extensions from different vendors sometimes do the same job, such as two popups or two cookie solutions. That leads to conflicts and confused visitors. Check beforehand what your shop can already do.

Updates without testing. A Magento update does not automatically run cleanly with every extension. Applying it directly on the live system risks outages in running operation. Apply updates on the test system first.

Tracking without consent. Measurement modules such as pixels or tag managers should be tied to your cookie solution. Check that they load only after consent, and clarify the legal side with legal counsel.

Forgetting maintenance. Magento 2 Extensions are not a one-time purchase. If nobody is planned for care and updates, the problem arrives at the latest with the next security update. More on the security page.

When are Magento 2 Extensions not enough?

There are cases where a ready-made module reaches its limits. These include interfaces to an ERP system, a special price calculation or a process that exists only in your company. Then there are two paths: we adapt an existing module to your requirement, or we develop a custom extension. Both run through the extension development page, which describes process and effort.

Interplay with the frontend matters too. If you rely on Hyvä Themes, choose modules checked for it and plan layout adjustments where needed. If you want very lean pages, also look at performance optimization, because every module brings code, and more modules mean more load time to check.

If you are unsure whether a module is enough, you get an honest assessment from us. If a module does not fit, we say so. For larger wishes there is the custom project quote.

Checklist: how to choose the right Magento 2 Extensions

Work through these points before you order modules. Each point saves rework later.

  • Phrase the goal in one sentence

Describe what should change in the shop, for example "fewer abandoned carts". The goal decides which module is needed at all.

  • Note Magento version and theme

State the exact 2.4.x version and the theme. For Hyvä check the badge "Hyvä Ready" on the product page.

  • Read the feature list

The product page lists what the module can do. Do not assume anything that is not written there.

  • Check for overlaps

Does an installed module already cover parts of the task? Then clarify beforehand which module takes which job.

  • Consider several store views and languages

Check whether texts, settings or displays are needed per store view. A German and an English shop often need separate content.

  • Clarify legal questions separately

For modules on cookies, privacy or withdrawal we cover the technology. Whether it suffices for your case is for legal counsel to judge.

  • Plan maintenance and updates

Decide who tests after Magento updates. See maintenance and support.

  • Calculate the budget as a total

Add up the module prices and include setup and possible adjustments.

What do Magento 2 Extensions from Mironsoft cost?

The prices of the Magento 2 Extensions range from EUR 79 to EUR 799, per module and listed individually. A module like Scroll To Top costs from EUR 89, the Disable Right Click from EUR 79. Mid-range modules like Ajax Add To Cart cost from EUR 129, larger ones like the Layered Navigation from EUR 299, the Elasticsearch Suite from EUR 399. At the top end stands the B2B Ecommerce Solution, from EUR 799.

For a realistic budget do not just add up module prices. Several modules quickly add up to an investment that has to pay off through saved manual work or additional revenue. An example: if your team invoices orders by hand today, the Auto Invoice & Shipment (from EUR 229) saves exactly those steps. Calculate how much time that costs today.

If you prefer to plan monthly, the shop rental page shows a different model, and regular care is available in the maintenance packages. The overview of all services is on the pricing page. Modules are paid by invoice or prepayment.

Note on legal modules

General information, not legal advice

Modules from the categories Legal and Documents cover functions technically, such as a cookie banner or a withdrawal button. They do not replace a legal review. Whether and how you must use the functions depends on your shop, your target countries and your customers. If in doubt, clarify this with legal counsel before you go live.
