Shop Rental: Your Individual Magento Store from €100/Month
A new Magento store can easily cost a five-figure sum – before you've sold a single product. At mironsoft, we offer a second path: rent your individual Magento 2 store with a Hyvä frontend instead of buying it. Predictable monthly costs instead of a one-off investment.
A new Magento store can easily cost a five-figure sum – before you've sold a single product. For many founders and smaller merchants, that's a hurdle that blocks the entry into professional e-commerce from the very start. At mironsoft, we offer a second path alongside the classic build-and-buy project: Shop Rental.
You get a fully-fledged, individually configured Magento 2 store with a Hyvä frontend – not as a one-off investment, but as a predictable monthly service rate. How this works, who it's for, what's included, and where its limits are – you'll find all of that on this page.
01
What Is Shop Rental? Magento as a Service Instead of a One-Off Project
The idea is simple: why buy a Magento store outright when you can rent one instead? Instead of a project with a large upfront investment, we offer you "Magento as a Service". You pay a monthly rate – and in return you get a real, individually configured Magento 2 store with a Hyvä theme that is already running, already maintained, and ready to use.
One clarification matters to us: this is not an off-the-shelf website builder. You don't get an interchangeable template – you get a genuine Magento Open Source store with a Hyvä frontend, built on exactly the same technical foundation as our purchased projects. The only difference is the payment model: rent instead of buy. The model is built around the feature scope of Magento Open Source (Community Edition); the complex B2B and enterprise features of Adobe Commerce are not included.
Why Magento 2 and Hyvä as the Base?
No dependency on a single vendor, a huge ecosystem of extensions, a codebase you can keep extending. Combined with Hyvä – no Luma, no Knockout.js, no unnecessary JavaScript – your store loads noticeably faster and performs better on Core Web Vitals than a standard Magento theme.
02
Who Is Shop Rental For?
Not every project is a fit for rental – and we'd rather tell you that upfront than disappoint you later. Shop Rental is a particularly good fit for:
Founders who want to launch a professional Magento store without a large amount of starting capital.
Small and mid-sized merchants who want to move from a website-builder or Shopware-type solution to a more capable, individual system.
Companies with a clear OPEX strategy who prefer to book IT costs as an ongoing operating expense rather than an investment.
Test and secondary markets, where a new business model needs to prove itself before larger capital gets tied up.
Merchants ready to switch from a technically outdated or insecure system who want to move to Magento with Hyvä quickly.
Rental is less suitable if you need highly complex B2B processes, extensive ERP integrations, or genuine enterprise features that go beyond Magento Open Source from day one. In that case, we'd rather talk openly with you about a classic purchase project – that's part of honest advice, too.
03
What's Included in the Service Rate – and What Isn't?
Rental means more than just "a store you're allowed to use". It's a full operating service, where you don't have to worry about the technical side at all.
Operations & Administration
For your Magento 2 store on infrastructure optimized for Hyvä stores.
Updates & Security Patches
For Magento core and the extensions in use, so your store stays technically current and secure.
Baseline Maintenance
So the store runs reliably without you having to handle backups or monitoring yourself.
Not Included: The Pure Server Costs (approx. €50/month)
That's a deliberate separation: we don't want to profit from infrastructure you'd need regardless of who runs your store. You pay the actual hosting cost – passed through 1:1, no markup. Combined, that's a total of roughly €150/month to start (€100 service + €50 server), plus the one-time setup fee at the beginning.
04
How Is the Price Calculated?
So you know exactly what you're paying for, the price of your Shop Rental consists of three clearly separated components:
from €100
Monthly service rate – on a 12-month minimum term. Our fee for operations, updates, and baseline maintenance.
approx. €50
Server costs per month – the actual hosting cost, passed through 1:1, no markup.
from €490
One-time setup fee – covers the initial setup of your individual store.
Why a minimum term and a setup fee, when the whole point is a low-barrier entry? Honestly: setting up an individual store is real effort that has to be accounted for somewhere, even in a rental model. Without a minimum term, we'd either have to price that effort into a significantly higher monthly rate, or we simply couldn't offer this model in good faith. With a 12-month minimum term and a modest setup fee, the monthly rate stays low and the entry point stays fairly calculated.
The exact monthly service rate additionally depends on three factors that directly affect the ongoing effort on our side, and which we walk you through transparently before the contract starts:
Design – Standard or Custom?
A standard layout is set up faster than a fully custom design with its own look and feel. More individuality means a higher rate.
Number of Products
Whether ten or ten thousand products makes a noticeable difference in setup, structure, and ongoing operations.
Number of Categories
A lean category structure is quick to build. A deeply nested tree with many filters means more concept work.
Example
Assortment & Categories
Design
Service Rate
Small store
Manageable assortment, lean category structure
Standard layout
close to the €100 entry price
Larger store
Several hundred products, deeply nested categories with many filters
Fully custom
noticeably above the entry price
We always give you the exact price for your case after the initial conversation – blanket estimates without knowing your project wouldn't match our transparency standard. Anything beyond the standard scope (custom development, integrations, individual extensions) is billed separately at our known hourly rate of €30.
05
Rent or Buy? An Honest Comparison
We'd love to tell you that renting is the better choice for everyone. It isn't. Both models have their place, and an honest provider tells you so.
Criterion
Shop Rental
Purchase Project
Barrier to entry
Setup fee from €490 instead of a five-figure one-off investment
Large upfront investment
Investment risk
No technical risk, updates & operations included
Carried by you or via a separate maintenance contract
Costs
Predictable, clearly itemized, easy to plan as OPEX
Large one-time expense (CAPEX)
Commitment
12-month minimum term, then free
No ongoing commitment to a provider
Ownership
Store stays operated by us
Store is fully yours, including source code
At high revenue volume
Can be more expensive long term than buying
Often cheaper over many years
Our honest take: renting is the ideal way to get started if you want to go live quickly, with low financial risk, and without a long lead time. If your store grows strongly and becomes your central revenue driver, switching to a classic purchase project is available to you at any time – we'll guide you through that step just as transparently as we guided you through getting started.

Ready for Your Rented Magento Store?
Want to know what your individual Shop Rental would actually cost? In a non-binding conversation, we'll work out what you need, and you'll get a transparent price tailored to your project – no sales pressure.
From €100 service rate plus approx. €50 server costs, together roughly €150/month to start, plus a one-time setup fee from €490. The exact price depends on design, product count, and category structure and is calculated transparently before the contract starts.
Why is there a 12-month minimum term?
Setting up an individual store is real effort. The minimum term gives both of us planning security and keeps the monthly rate low, instead of pricing the effort entirely into a higher rate.
Why aren't server costs included in the service rate?
We don't want to profit from infrastructure you'd need regardless. You pay the actual hosting cost 1:1, no markup – transparent instead of hidden in a higher flat rate.
Can I switch to the purchase model later?
Yes. Many customers deliberately start with rental to keep risk and capital commitment low, and switch later – once the business model has proven itself – to a classic purchase project.
What feature scope is included in the rental?
The feature scope of Magento Open Source (Community Edition) with a Hyvä frontend. Complex B2B and enterprise features of Adobe Commerce are not included – for that, we'd talk about a classic purchase project.
What happens if I have additional requests?
Custom development, third-party integrations, or individual extensions are billed separately at our known, fair hourly rate of €30 – discussed openly, no hidden line items.
