Magento 2 Show Net Prices: the right price display for every customer group
With the Magento 2 show net prices module from Mironsoft you decide per customer group how prices are presented: business customers see net prices with the note excl. VAT, consumers see gross prices including tax. Optionally both appear side by side. The setting applies in the catalogue, on the product page, in the cart and in the checkout. The tax calculation itself stays unchanged.
Display per customer group
For each group you choose net, gross or both, including visitors who are not logged in.
Suffix text
Notes such as excl. VAT or incl. VAT are attached to the price per group and store view.
Catalogue to checkout
Lists, product page, cart and order review show the same presentation.
Both side by side
If you wish, the second price appears smaller under the main price, for example gross under net.
Tax calculation untouched
The module only changes the display. Calculation, invoice and credit memo still follow your tax settings.
Cache friendly
The display depends on the customer group and fits the full page cache of Magento.
Why you should show net prices in Magento 2 where business customers shop
A buyer in a company calculates with net prices, a consumer with the final price. By default, however, Magento sets the price display per website or store, not per customer group. Anyone who serves both audiences in one shop has to compromise. Merchants search for Magento 2 show net prices, for net and gross by customer group, and for a price display without VAT for company customers.
With Magento 2 show net prices every group sees what it is used to. That saves queries, avoids misunderstandings in the cart and makes the shop usable for B2B and B2C at the same time. Whether the chosen presentation is legally permitted is for you to check as the shop operator, especially for prices shown to consumers.
Magento 2 show net prices: assignment per customer group
With Magento 2 show net prices, each customer group appears in a table with three selection fields: display in the catalogue, display in the cart and suffix text. You choose net, gross or both. Guests belong to the group Not logged in and can be set separately. New groups adopt the default setting until you define something else. Changes take effect immediately after the cache is cleared.
- Net, gross or both per group
- Guests configurable as their own group
- New groups inherit the default setting
Price presentation in the catalogue and on the product page
Magento 2 show net prices also changes lists and product pages: the price appears in the chosen format, followed by the suffix text in small type. When both prices are shown, the main price is large and the second one small below it. Tier prices, special prices and the struck-through price follow the same logic. The structured data for search engines is adjusted as well and stays consistent.
- Suffix such as excl. VAT in small type
- Tier and special prices follow the group
- Structured data stays consistent
Magento 2 show net prices in the cart and checkout: totals that match the display
In the cart, the mini cart and the order review, subtotal, shipping, tax and grand total match the display of the group. A retailer group sees the subtotal net, then the tax as its own line and the grand total gross. The invoice and the order emails follow the tax configuration of your shop so that documents and accounting do not drift apart.
- Subtotal, tax and grand total match
- Mini cart and order review consistent
- Invoice and emails follow the tax configuration
Texts, store views and control in the admin
Magento 2 show net prices keeps your languages separate: you maintain the suffix texts per store view so that your languages stay cleanly separated. A preview in the admin shows for each group what a sample price looks like. If you combine the module with a login requirement for prices or with an approval step for business customers, unknown visitors see only the default presentation. The module does not switch any group by itself, it only shows prices accordingly.
- Suffix texts per store view
- Preview per group in the admin
- No automatic switching of groups

Difference to the net-gross switcher, VAT ID validation and price hiding
The net-gross switcher from Mironsoft lets the visitor choose, and the VAT ID validation clarifies tax exemption in the checkout. The price hiding module hides prices from certain visitors. The module to show net prices in Magento 2 instead decides by customer group, without any action from the visitor, how a price appears.
The modules can be combined, for example group display as the default and the switcher for exceptions. Everything runs with Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme, without an additional library.
No download — personal setup instead
Customer Group Price Display is not listed here as a ready-made download file for self-installation. The purchase is a service commission: we get in touch after the purchase, install the module in your shop and agree on groups, presentation and suffix texts together with you.
