1. Anchoring Performance Budgets and Governance in the Team

   Jan 5, 2026

Performance only stays stable when it doesn't depend on a single person, but is anchored across the whole team through code review checklists, automated CI budgets, visible dashboards, and fixed sprint goals. This article shows how Magento and Hyva teams build performance governance, resolve pushback against competing deadlines productively, and distribute responsibility sustainably instead of burdening one person.

2. Using Resource Hints Correctly: preload, prefetch, preconnect

   Dec 25, 2025

Scattering preload, prefetch, and preconnect across the head without a plan wastes exactly the bandwidth and priority class the truly critical resource needs. This article explains how the browser's preload scanner works, when each resource hint actually helps, and how to reliably detect, measure, and avoid overuse with Chrome DevTools.

3. Service Worker and Cache API for Offline-First Strategies

   Dec 18, 2025

A service worker runs as its own thread between the browser and the network, able to intercept requests, answer them from a local cache, and update that cache in the background. Used correctly, this delivers instant load times on repeat visits, working fallback pages without a network connection, and noticeably less server load, all without users noticing the difference from a native app.

4. Code Splitting and Lazy Loading for Smaller Bundles

   Dec 15, 2025

A large JavaScript bundle costs more than download time, it blocks the main thread while parsing and compiling. With dynamic import(), vendor chunk splitting, and targeted lazy loading of heavy below-the-fold widgets, initial bundle size drops noticeably without losing functionality, even in server-rendered Hyva stores built on Alpine.js.

5. Database Query Optimization for PHP Applications

   Nov 21, 2025

Slow catalogs almost never result from too little hardware, but from queries without a matching index, unnecessarily wide SELECT statements and missing caching. This article shows how to read EXPLAIN plans, diagnose missing indexes, reduce connection overhead and configure MySQL/MariaDB for catalog-heavy PHP applications.

6. Compression Compared: Brotli vs. Gzip

   Nov 18, 2025

Every uncompressed byte of HTML, CSS, or JS costs transfer time, especially on mobile connections with high latency. Gzip is the reliable standard, but Brotli compresses web text noticeably smaller thanks to a built-in dictionary of common terms. This article shows how both algorithms actually work, where the real compression ratios land, and how to configure them correctly in Nginx and Varnish for Magento.

7. Lazy Loading Beyond Images: iframes, Components, Routes

   Nov 15, 2025

Lazy loading does not stop at images. Maps, chat widgets, review sections, and entire application routes can be deferred deliberately to relieve load time and main thread pressure, without introducing new layout shifts or wasted network requests. This article covers loading lazy for iframes, IntersectionObserver patterns, and route splitting with concrete code.

8. Setting Up Real User Monitoring (RUM) Technically

   Nov 5, 2025

Synthetic tests only show a simulated snapshot, yet real customers experience Magento and Hyvä stores on wildly different devices, networks, and connection qualities. This article shows, in technical depth, how to integrate the web-vitals library, ship measurements efficiently via sendBeacon, sample sensibly under heavy traffic, build a minimal ingestion backend, and stay privacy compliant throughout.

9. Optimizing Video Performance Without a Load Time Explosion

   Aug 6, 2025

Video is usually the single heaviest resource on a Magento product page and can seriously hurt Largest Contentful Paint, bandwidth, and interaction responsiveness. With the right preload attribute, optimized poster images, genuine lazy loading below the fold, and adaptive streaming for longer content, load times stay stable without giving up product videos.

10. Alpine.js Performance Patterns for Hyvä Stores

    Jul 30, 2025

Alpine.js is often seen as a lightweight alternative to Vue or React, yet even Alpine can noticeably slow down a product listing page. This article explains how Alpine's Proxy-based reactivity actually works, how x-for renders large lists smoothly, when x-show beats x-if, and how shared state through Alpine.store makes dozens of separate components unnecessary.
