Magento 2 Holiday Mode: your shop stays open, your customers stay informed
With the Magento 2 holiday mode from Mironsoft you define a period in which your team does not ship or public holidays slow down delivery. During that period notices appear where customers make decisions: in the header, on the product page, in the cart and at checkout. The delivery time shown grows by the working days you set. The shop stays open, orders are accepted and shipped later. The Magento 2 holiday mode is configured in a few minutes and runs on Alpine.js without an extra library.
Set the period
Start and end with date and time, per store view and in the time zone of your shop.
Notice banner
A banner in the header plus notes on the product page, in the cart and at checkout.
Delivery surcharge
The displayed delivery time grows automatically by the working days you configure.
Orders keep flowing
Customers order as usual, the notice only explains the later dispatch.
Last order day
A date such as order by 18 December makes Christmas deadlines easy to grasp.
Yearly templates
Save holiday periods and switch them on again next year with one click.
Why shop owners should communicate in a Magento 2 holiday mode
Company vacations, stocktaking or the weeks before Christmas change delivery times without the shop saying so. The result is questions by mail, phone and chat, complaints about seemingly slow dispatch and, in the worst case, cancellations. Anyone searching for a Magento 2 vacation notice or a way to extend the delivery time needs exactly this transparency in the right places.
The Magento 2 holiday mode replaces switching CMS blocks and product attributes by hand. You enter the period once, and all notices appear and disappear on their own. That saves work before the break and prevents a banner from staying up for days after you are back.
Set up the Magento 2 holiday mode: period, lead time and store views
In the admin you enter the start and end of the period. An optional lead time shows the notice a few days earlier so customers order in time. Every period can apply to selected store views, so your German shop shows different deadlines than the English one. The check runs against the date in the browser, so pages keep coming from the full page cache.
- Start, end and lead time in days
- Validity per store view or for all
- Check via Alpine.js, full page cache stays active
Holiday notice in the shop: banner, product page, cart and checkout
The notice appears where it is needed. The header banner informs early, the product page names the adjusted delivery time, and in the cart and at checkout the text sits right before the order. You switch each place on or off and word the texts per store view. Placeholders such as the end date or the carrier name are filled in automatically.
- Four positions switchable one by one
- Texts with placeholders for date and delivery time
- Close button remembers the choice
Extend the delivery time in Magento 2: surcharge in working days
Instead of maintaining every delivery time one by one, you enter a surcharge in working days. The existing display on the product page and at checkout grows by this value while the period runs. Optionally you set a last order day, for example for delivery before Christmas Eve. The additional text also appears in the order confirmation so customers have the later dispatch in writing.
- Surcharge in working days for all products
- Last order day as its own notice
- Additional text in the order confirmation
Holiday templates and shipping methods in the Magento 2 holiday mode
Recurring periods such as Christmas, Easter or company vacations are saved as templates and switched on again next year with adjusted dates. If only some shipping methods are affected, for example express delivery, limit the notice to them. Permissions decide who may change periods, and every change is traceable in the admin.
- Templates for Christmas, Easter and company vacations
- Notice only for selected shipping methods
- Own ACL resource for the configuration
Where the Magento 2 holiday mode helps in everyday shop work
Typical situations in which the Magento 2 holiday mode prevents questions.
Summer break
Your warehouse is closed for two weeks. Customers see the period and the new delivery time but keep ordering.
Christmas business
A last order day states clearly until when delivery before the holidays works and reduces inquiries.
Stocktaking and moving
For a few days you extend delivery by a fixed surcharge without touching individual products.
Several countries
The English store shows different public holidays than the German one. Each store view gets its own period and text.
Magento 2 holiday mode: comparison without and with the module
The difference to manually maintained blocks and attributes.
| Topic | Without module | With Mironsoft Holiday Shipping Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Activating the notice | Switch CMS blocks and layout by hand | Enter the period, the rest runs automatically |
| Delivery time | Edit every product one by one | One surcharge in working days for all |
| End of the notice | Forgotten after the return | Disappears at the configured moment |
| Several languages | Maintain texts separately | Period and text per store view |
| Repetition | Rebuild every year | Activate templates with one click |

Differences to maintenance mode and header notices
The maintenance mode from Mironsoft switches the shop to a maintenance page and blocks orders. The Magento 2 holiday mode does the opposite: the shop stays open and customers are informed about longer delivery times. Both modules can be combined, for example when you need a short pause after the break.
A general header bar knows neither a period nor a delivery surcharge. The holiday mode works with Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme and needs no further library. Legal statements about delivery periods are for you to review as the shop owner.
No download — personal setup instead
The holiday mode is not listed here as a ready-made download file for self-installation. The purchase is a service commission: we get in touch after the purchase, install the module in your shop and agree on periods, texts and surcharges together with you.
