Dark mode is no longer a nice-to-have, it's a user expectation. Hardcoding colors directly into StyleSheet.create in React Native builds up technical debt the moment dark mode or a second color scheme is required. Design tokens, a central ThemeProvider, and systematic theming solve this problem once, cleanly.

Synchronous REST calls block PHP-FPM workers and run into HTTP timeouts on bulk data. The asynchronous bulk API in Magento 2 moves processing into the message queue, making mass imports, price updates and ERP integrations scalable without blocking the checkout thread.

Anyone building Magento modules without integration tests only notices regressions in staging or in production. The Magento Test Framework provides a complete environment with real database isolation, automatic fixture management and the full Magento DI container, provided it is set up correctly.

A custom hook too often gets tested only indirectly through the component that uses it. That hides bugs in the hook logic and makes tests unnecessarily complex. renderHook from React Testing Library lets you check a hook's state, side effects and async updates directly, with no artificial host component at all.

AI assistants like Claude Code are becoming more agentic, understanding larger parts of a codebase, and using external tools through protocols such as MCP. This article assesses which developments are already technically viable today, what realistically lies ahead over the next few years, and why architecture decisions and business logic will keep requiring human judgment, no matter how capable the tooling becomes.

InnoDB stores data as a B-tree and is the default choice for nearly every MySQL installation, including Magento shops. Under very high write load, such as logging tables, change logs, or time series data, this approach hits limits: random writes cause page splits and noticeable write amplification. MyRocks replaces the B-tree with a Log-Structured-Merge-Tree derived from RocksDB, promising far less write overhead and smaller tables on disk. Whether the switch pays off depends heavily on the actual access pattern.

A REST API tested in the office over a stable Wi-Fi connection behaves fundamentally differently on a smartphone on a train with fluctuating coverage. Large payloads, many individual requests, and missing offline behavior, barely noticeable in the office, become real usability problems on mobile networks, requiring deliberate, mobile-specific API design decisions.

Social proof widgets demonstrably lift conversion rate, but most implementations load an extra third-party script blocking in the head, cause visible layout shift, and open up the content security policy so widely that it becomes effectively meaningless. This article shows how to implement live purchase notifications and review widgets cleanly on the technical level, which CSP directives are actually needed, and where the line to dishonest fake social proof practices runs, which cause more risk than benefit.

A single change inside a widget often triggers a style recalculation for the entire page in the browser, because cascade and layout act globally by default. CSS containment deliberately limits this blast radius to individual components, turning unpredictable rendering cost into a predictable, local matter.

Anyone who builds a separate Docker image for every environment loses the exact guarantee containers are supposed to provide. Build once, deploy many separates the build step from configuration and ensures that the artifact running in production is exactly the one that was tested in staging, without a single rebuild in between.
