1. OpenSearch and Magento GraphQL: How Search Really Works Together

   Mar 10, 2025

When a Magento GraphQL product search is slow, the problem is rarely in the GraphQL layer itself. It is almost always in how search requests get routed through resolvers to OpenSearch, and whether indexing, filter mapping and sorting are configured correctly.

2. GraphQL Error Handling: Separating Business Errors, Transport Errors and Extensions

   Feb 28, 2025

GraphQL has no HTTP equivalent for business errors. Anyone who models business errors as resolver exceptions, fails to distinguish transport errors from network problems, and ignores extensions.category ends up with error handling that forces the frontend to react to heuristics instead of structure.

3. GraphQL Mocking for Frontend and API Tests

   Feb 24, 2025

Without mocking, an unfinished backend endpoint blocks the entire frontend development effort. GraphQL mocking at the schema level makes frontend teams independent, enables testing of error scenarios, and significantly speeds up the development cycle.

4. GraphQL Security Review: Depth Limits, Complexity Limits, Introspection, Abuse Cases

   Feb 23, 2025

Without additional protective measures, GraphQL APIs are vulnerable to overloaded queries, introspection attacks, batching DoS, and data leaks through resolvers that are too permissive. This security review shows concrete attack scenarios and the matching countermeasures.

5. Magento GraphQL and EAV: What Product Queries Really Cost

   Feb 18, 2025

A Magento GraphQL product query that looks simple can internally trigger dozens of SQL joins across EAV tables. Anyone who does not understand how the Entity-Attribute-Value model works ends up optimizing the wrong thing. This article explains why EAV is expensive, which measures actually help, and where the limits are.

6. Preparing Magento Modules for GraphQL: Sensible Structure and File Layout

   Feb 4, 2025

Making a custom Magento module GraphQL-ready sounds simple, yet it often fails because of missing structure: misplaced schema files, resolvers without clear delegation, di.xml entries that never take effect. This article shows what the file layout should look like and why convention matters more here than creativity.

7. Field-Level Permissions: Securing Sensitive Data in GraphQL

   Jan 21, 2025

GraphQL authorization does not end at the query check. Sensitive fields such as email addresses, order histories, and admin-specific data must be secured at the field level, inside the resolver context, not just in the schema. This article shows how that works in practice.

8. Caching in GraphQL: HTTP, Persisted Queries, Response Cache, Edge Caching

   Jan 20, 2025

GraphQL sends queries as a POST request to a single endpoint, which makes standard HTTP caching harder than in REST. Anyone who takes GraphQL performance seriously needs to understand every caching layer: Persisted Queries for HTTP caching, resolver-level response cache, and CDN edge caching for non-personalized content.

9. GraphQL in Headless Frontends: Magento with React, Vue or Next.js

   Jan 16, 2025

Headless commerce with Magento GraphQL promises flexibility. In practice, Apollo Client configuration, type-safe code generation, SSR/SSG caching and fragment design decide whether the frontend stays fast and maintainable or turns into a complexity trap.

10. Introspection, SDL and Schema Registry in Teams

    Jan 11, 2025

In many GraphQL projects, the schema is the only contract between frontend and backend teams, yet nobody takes responsibility for versioning, sharing or reviewing it. Introspection, SDL and schema registries are the three building blocks that let teams turn the schema into a genuine single source of truth.
