1. schema.graphqls in Magento: Patterns and Anti-Patterns

   Sep 6, 2025

The schema.graphqls file is the contract between backend and frontend. A poorly designed schema is hard to extend, hard to version, and hard to document. This article shows which patterns have proven themselves in Magento modules and which anti-patterns regularly cause problems.

2. Magento GraphQL Performance: Why Resolvers Get Slow

   Sep 4, 2025

A slow GraphQL query is rarely GraphQL's fault. The real problems sit deeper: N+1 patterns in resolver chains, EAV tables that produce dozens of joins per product, and queries without complexity limits that can load the server arbitrarily. This article shows where to look and what actually helps.

3. Magento GraphQL and SearchCriteria: Wiring Filters Cleanly into Resolvers

   Aug 16, 2025

Anyone who resolves GraphQL filters in Magento naively through raw SQL or direct model queries builds up technical debt. The correct path runs through the SearchCriteriaBuilder, with type-safe arguments in the schema, clean delegation in the resolver and testable filter logic in the service contract.

4. Pagination in GraphQL: Cursor vs. Offset Done Right

   Aug 11, 2025

Pagination is not a minor detail in GraphQL. Anyone who simply writes offset and limit into the schema has a working solution, but not a robust one. Cursor-based pagination following the Relay specification takes more effort, but it solves exactly the problems that offset pagination creates as data volumes grow and concurrent writes happen.

5. Building a Custom Magento GraphQL Resolver: Query from A to Z

   Aug 11, 2025

From the schema definition through the ResolverInterface to DI configuration, error handling and integration tests: the complete path to a production-ready Magento GraphQL resolver, no shortcuts.

6. Avoiding N+1 in GraphQL: Batching, DataLoader, Resolver Strategies

   Jul 29, 2025

The N+1 problem is the most common performance antipattern in GraphQL APIs. It arises when every resolver of a list element triggers its own database query. The result: 100 products mean 101 queries. Batching and the DataLoader pattern solve the problem systematically, without sacrificing the flexibility of GraphQL.

7. GraphQL Input Validation: Modeling It Cleanly

   Jul 14, 2025

Validation in GraphQL is not a single mechanism but an interplay of schema types, custom scalars, resolver logic and explicit error types. Anyone who relies on just one layer ends up with incomplete validation. This article shows how all the layers work together and which mistakes typically occur.

8. GraphQL Monitoring: Which Metrics Actually Matter

   Jul 6, 2025

HTTP status codes and global response times say little about GraphQL APIs. Resolver latency, error classes, field usage and N+1 detection are the metrics that make real production problems visible.

9. GraphQL Code Generation for TypeScript and PHP Done Right

   Jul 4, 2025

Anyone who keeps GraphQL queries manually in sync with types builds up technical debt, every single time a schema field changes. Code generation from the schema and operations files turns types into automation instead of a maintenance chore.

10. GraphQL Fundamentals: Schema, Query, Mutation, and Resolvers Explained

    Jun 30, 2025

Schema definition, query language, mutations, and resolvers are the four load-bearing pillars of every GraphQL system. Anyone who understands how they work together and where the typical mistakes happen builds APIs that scale, instead of APIs that have to be rebuilt after the first release to production.
