Every collection registers as a standard Magento widget and therefore appears directly in the page editor's "Insert Widget" dialog — on any CMS page, any CMS block, and any product or category description. For edge cases where widgets don't apply (e.g. checkout), a Layout XML block is additionally available for developers.
