Why shops should treat the Magento 2 WEEE Notice as a building block of its own

Battery notices with return information and chemical symbol
For batteries and devices with a battery a notice appears about free return and the end user’s duty not to dispose of used batteries with household waste. If the battery contains certain hazardous substances, you store the chemical symbol, such as Pb, Cd or Hg, as a product field and the module prints it next to the symbol. You agree the wording with your legal adviser.

Info page, footer link and checkout hint for the Magento 2 WEEE Notice
A page of its own collects return options, disposal notes and the meaning of the symbols. The module links it in the footer and in checkout and adds a short version to the order email. That way the notices are not found in one place only. Optionally you enter the manufacturer’s WEEE registration number, which then appears in the notices.

Optional question about handing in an old appliance at delivery
If you take back old appliances at delivery, checkout can ask for affected products whether the customer wants to hand one in. The answer is attached to the order and shown in the admin and as a note for the delivery. The question can be switched off and is visible only when the cart contains a product of the type electrical equipment.
