Magento 2 Sub Accounts: one company account, many employees with clear permissions
With Magento 2 sub accounts from Mironsoft, company customers create separate logins for their employees under the main account. Every employee signs in with their own credentials, receives a role such as buyer, approver, accounting or viewer and sees only what that role allows. Addresses and order history belong to the company. The interface runs on Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme and needs no extra library.
Sub accounts per company
The main account invites employees, creates sub accounts, changes roles and blocks logins without your support team stepping in.
Invitation by email
The employee receives a registration link, sets a password and is assigned to the company straight away.
Roles and permissions
Buyer, approver, accounting and viewer with a permission matrix that you adjust in the admin.
Ordering for the company
Sub accounts order to company addresses, and the order appears in the company account and with the main account.
Shared addresses
Shipping and billing addresses are maintained once and can be picked by all sub accounts.
Blocking and control
The main account blocks departed employees at once, while orders and history are kept.
Why company customers need Magento 2 sub accounts
In companies one person rarely orders alone. The workshop reports demand, purchasing orders, accounting checks invoices and management keeps an overview. When everyone shares one password, all traceability is lost. Merchants therefore search for Magento 2 sub accounts, for a Magento 2 company account with employees, or for roles and permissions for customers. By default every customer is a single account without any hierarchy.
With Magento 2 sub accounts every employee gets a login and the company stays in control: who ordered, who may see invoices, who was blocked. That reduces support questions and makes your shop usable for larger customers in the first place.
Create Magento 2 sub accounts: invite employees by email
The main account opens the Employees area in the customer account and enters name, email address and role. The module sends an invitation with a time-limited registration link. The employee sets a password and then belongs to the company. If the email address is already registered as a customer, the existing account is linked after confirmation instead of creating a duplicate. In the admin you limit how many sub accounts a company may create.
- Invitation with registration link and expiry date
- Existing customers are linked after confirmation
- Maximum number of sub accounts per company configurable
Define roles and permissions for Magento 2 sub accounts
In the admin you define roles and assign permissions: place orders, view company orders, download invoices, maintain addresses, manage employees. Buyer, approver, accounting and viewer are preset, and you can add further roles. The main account may change the roles of sub accounts but can never remove its own rights. Whatever a role may not do is hidden on the pages instead of showing an error message.
- Four preset roles, custom roles possible
- Permission matrix for ordering, viewing, invoices, addresses
- Areas that are not allowed are hidden
Shared addresses and order history of the company
Shipping and billing addresses are maintained once at company level and can be selected by all sub accounts at checkout. The role decides who may change the billing address. The order history shows the main account and accounting all company orders, while a buyer sees only their own. That keeps it traceable which sub account ordered what, even when the employee leaves the company later.
- Maintain addresses once, use them everywhere
- Order visibility per role
- History is kept after an employee leaves
Admin overview of companies, blocking and data protection
In the admin you see all companies with their sub accounts, roles and the date of the last login. You can block accounts, change roles and dissolve a company. The module stores only the link between account, company and role; order data stays in the Magento tables. Notes on data processing and retention periods can be added to the email template, and legal review is the responsibility of the shop operator.
- Overview of all companies with sub accounts
- Blocking and role changes also in the admin
- Assignment separate from order data

Scope of Magento 2 sub accounts compared with the B2B package and customer approval
The B2B package from Mironsoft bundles general wholesale features such as prices and conditions, and customer approval releases new registrations manually. Magento 2 sub accounts have a different job: inside a company they map employees with roles and shared addresses.
All three modules can be combined, for example approval of the company by your team and management of employees by the main account. Approvals and spending limits per sub account are handled by a separate module.
