6 Features

Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences: customers control topics and frequency themselves

With the Mironsoft Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences, subscribers decide which topics they receive and how often. Instead of choosing between everything and nothing, the preference center offers topics such as new arrivals, offers or guides and a choice of frequency. Access is through a personal link in every mail, with no login. The Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences respect double opt-in and work with Alpine.js without an additional library.

Choose topics

Subscribers tick topics such as new arrivals, offers or guides on or off individually.

Choose frequency

Weekly, monthly or highlights only; you define the options yourself.

Access without login

A personal, unguessable link in every mail opens the preference center.

Unsubscribe in one click

Full unsubscription stays directly reachable at any time, without detours.

Tied to double opt-in

Preferences are stored and used only after confirmed sign-up.

Admin reporting

See at a glance how many subscribers chose which topic.

Why preferences

Why Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences lower the unsubscribe rate

Many subscribers do not leave because they dislike your shop but because they get too much or the wrong thing. By default Magento only knows subscribed or unsubscribed. Someone who receives offers too often although they only want new arrivals leaves the list entirely.

Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences give the subscriber a third option: less or different instead of nothing. This protects your reach and improves deliverability at the same time, because fewer mails stay unopened or get marked as spam.

01Preference center

Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences: topics and frequency at a glance

The preference center is a separate, lean page in the shop design. The subscriber sees their email address, the topic list with descriptions and the choice of frequency. Changes are saved with one click and confirmed immediately. You maintain topics in the admin with name, description and sort order, translatable per store view.

  • Topic list with description, per store view
  • Freely definable frequency levels
  • Immediate confirmation after saving

02Access

Access by link without login and without password

Every mail contains the link Change settings. It carries a long random value assigned to exactly one subscriber address. Whoever opens the link needs neither a customer account nor a password. Logged-in customers additionally find the same page in the customer account. The link stays valid as long as the subscription exists and can be regenerated in the admin.

  • Personal link with random value
  • Usable without a customer account
  • Additionally linked in the customer account
03Opt-in and unsubscribe

Connect double opt-in and unsubscribing cleanly

New subscribers pick topics at sign-up and confirm them by double opt-in. Until confirmation no preferences are used. Full unsubscription is clearly visible in the preference center and takes effect immediately. If you like, a single selection asks for the reason without making unsubscribing depend on it. Legal requirements are checked by the shop operator.

  • Topic choice directly at sign-up
  • Preferences active only after confirmed opt-in
  • Unsubscribing always possible without conditions

04Delivery and reporting

Hand newsletters over to your mail system by preference

The module stores topics and frequency per subscriber and provides them as a filter for delivery. On export or through the interface your mail system recognises who wants which topic. The report in the admin shows the number of subscribers per topic and frequency and how many changed their selection instead of unsubscribing.

  • Filter by topic and frequency on export
  • Counters per topic and frequency in the admin
  • Changes instead of unsubscriptions visible
Use cases

Where Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences help in everyday shop life

Typical situations in which choice is better than unsubscribing.

Shops with a broad range

If you sell fashion and accessories, you can separate topics so nobody receives offers that do not concern them.

Frequent promotions

Customers who find weekly mails too much choose monthly instead of unsubscribing.

Guides and blog

Subscribers who only want content receive guides without being flooded by discount campaigns.

Multilingual shops

Topics and texts are translated per store view, so every subscriber sees their language.

Scope

Scope compared with the newsletter popup and newsletter import

The Mironsoft newsletter popup wins new subscribers and the newsletter import transfers addresses into the shop. The Magento 2 Newsletter Preferences start afterwards: they control what an existing subscriber receives. Sending the mails themselves stays with your mail system.

All modules can be combined. The preference center runs with Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme, without an additional library.

05How the purchase works

No download, but personal setup

Newsletter Preference Center is not listed here as a ready-made download file to install yourself. The purchase is an order for a service: we contact you after the purchase, install the module in your shop and agree on topics, frequency levels and mail links together with you.

Important to know

Your purchase does not include a download link. We will get in touch with you within 2 business days — we'll sort out the details and payment together then. This offer is aimed at business owners and companies running a Magento 2 shop.
