No, it uses the speech recognition built into the browser, no additional service or contract needed.

Does voice search work on all devices?

It runs on mobile, tablet and desktop. Since recognition comes from the browser itself, quality depends slightly on the browser, and a notice appears if support is missing.

What happens to the voice recording?

Conversion is handled by your browser's speech recognition; no audio is stored in our shop system, only the recognized search text is used.

Does Voice Search replace my existing search?

No, it's an additional input method. The recognized text is passed to your existing search, including an already enhanced ajax search with autocomplete.

Can I set the recognition language per shop language?

Yes, as an addition we link the recognition language to the respective store view so, for example, your German and English shop areas are recognized correctly.

Can I see whether recording is currently active?

Yes, as an addition the microphone icon shows a visible animation while recording.

Can I disable Voice Search at any time?

Yes, via a simple on/off switch in the backend, without any deploy or developer involvement.

Can I download and install the module myself?
