Magento 2 Print File Upload: from artwork to order item
With the Mironsoft Print File Upload you accept print artwork directly on the product. The Magento 2 Print File Upload checks the file before the customer orders: file type, size, page count and resolution must match your format. A preview shows what has arrived, and after the order the file stays safely attached to the order item. You see it in the admin, your production team downloads it, and the customer can submit it later if needed. The interface runs on Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme and needs no extra library.
Upload on the product
Drag and drop or file picker right on the product page, with a progress indicator.
Format check
Allowed types, maximum file size and page count are set per product.
Resolution check
Minimum pixels or minimum DPI relative to the chosen print format.
Preview
First page or image as a thumbnail for customer, cart and production.
Order assignment
The file is attached to the order item and retrievable in the admin and in the customer overview.
Submit later
Orders without a file can be completed until production starts.
Why a Magento 2 Print File Upload saves follow-up questions
If you sell business cards, stickers, banners or fabrics with the customer's own design, you need the customer's file. Sent later by email, files get lost, do not match the order or have too low a resolution. The result is follow-up questions, delays and complaints that only show up in production. Merchants therefore look for a Magento 2 Print File Upload, for uploading a file on the product or for a check of print artwork.
If the file is checked at purchase and assigned to the order, the troubleshooting disappears. The customer sees immediately whether the file is suitable, and your team only receives files it can work with.
Upload field on the product: set up the Magento 2 Print File Upload
In the product editor you activate the upload field and choose which file types are allowed, such as PDF, PNG, JPG or SVG. Added to this are the maximum size in megabytes and, for PDF, the permitted page count. The field can be marked required or optional. The check runs on the server based on the actual file content, not just the extension. Files are stored under a random name outside the public directory.
- File types, size and page count per product
- Required or optional
- Content-based check, stored under random name
Magento 2 Print File Upload: format and resolution check before the purchase
You store the target format, for example 85 by 55 millimetres, and the minimum resolution in DPI. The module converts the pixel dimensions of the file to the format and reports if it is too small or the aspect ratio differs. The customer sees a clear message and can upload a new file without leaving the page. Warnings, for instance for borderline resolution, can be separated from hard errors, so the purchase stays possible anyway.
- Target format and minimum DPI per product
- Aspect ratio is checked too
- Warning or hard error selectable
Magento 2 Print File Upload preview for customer and production
After the upload a thumbnail of the first page or image appears, also in the cart and in the order confirmation. The server generates the preview if Imagick or a comparable library is available; otherwise the module shows a file icon with name and size. The customer spots mix-ups immediately, and production sees in the order overview at a glance which artwork belongs where.
- Thumbnail on product, cart and order
- Fallback to file icon without image library
- Mix-ups visible immediately
File stays attached to the order item
With the order, the file is permanently assigned to the respective item. In the admin a download link appears in the item overview, and in the customer account the buyer sees the file. If no file was uploaded at purchase, the customer can submit it via the account or a link as long as the order is not in production. A retention period deletes files automatically after a time you choose.
- Download in the admin on the order item
- Submit later via account or link
- Automatic deletion after retention period

Scope compared with personalisation, designers and print production
The Mironsoft product personalisation captures texts, engravings or design fields on the product. The Magento 2 Print File Upload accepts finished files and checks them. An online designer for creating in the browser or a connection to print shops is not part of the module.
Both modules can be combined. The Magento 2 Print File Upload uses Alpine.js in the Hyvä theme, without jQuery and without Knockout. Questions about copyright in uploaded artwork and about data storage are for the shop owner to assess legally.
No download — personal setup instead
The Print File Upload is not delivered as a ready-made download file for self-installation. The purchase is a service commission: we get in touch after the purchase, install the module in your shop and agree on file types, check rules and retention together with you.
