6 features

Magento 2 Pay by Invoice with limit, customer groups and first-order rule

With the Mironsoft Magento 2 Pay by Invoice you offer the invoice payment method only where the default risk is acceptable to you. You set a credit limit, choose customer groups and exclude first-time buyers or conspicuous carts. The customer sees the payment method in the checkout only if all rules are met.

Customer groups

The invoice payment method applies to selected customer groups, for example regular or business customers.

Limit per customer

A maximum amount per order and a total limit of open invoices protect against excessive risk.

First-order rule

New customers get the invoice only after a minimum number of paid orders or a minimum age of the account.

Countries and shipping methods

Restrict the payment method to delivery countries and shipping methods you can handle safely.

Payment term and invoice text

Payment term in days and a custom note appear in the checkout and in the order confirmation.

Block per customer account

Block or release single customers with a switch on the customer account.

Why control purchase on account

Why Magento 2 Pay by Invoice needs rules

Payment by invoice raises conversion, especially in B2B and with customers who do not yet trust the shop. It also brings a default risk that does not exist with prepayment or credit card. That is why merchants look for a Magento 2 Pay by Invoice that can be controlled instead of opening the payment method to everyone.

With clear rules the risk stays calculable: regular customers may buy on invoice, a new customer only after the first paid orders, and large amounts only up to the limit. Magento 2 Pay by Invoice does not replace a credit check by an external service; it works with data your shop already knows.

01Customer groups and countries

Magento 2 Pay by Invoice for selected customer groups and countries

In the admin you choose the customer groups for which the payment method is visible. You also restrict it by billing and delivery countries and by shipping methods. Guests can be excluded because no customer history exists for them. The selection applies per website and store view, so a B2B store gets different rules than the consumer shop.

  • Customer groups as multi-select
  • Billing and delivery countries and shipping methods
  • Guests can be excluded, rules per store view

02Limit and first order

Limit and first-order rule for Magento 2 Pay by Invoice

You set the highest invoice amount per order and a total limit for all still open invoices of a customer. As first-order rule you require a minimum number of paid orders or an account older than a certain number of days. If a customer does not meet the rules, the payment method disappears in the checkout, and a note explains which other payment methods are available.

  • Maximum per order and total limit of open items
  • Minimum number of paid orders or minimum account age
  • Note when the payment method is unavailable
03Checkout and invoice

Payment term and texts for Magento 2 Pay by Invoice

In the checkout the payment method shows the payment term and your own note, for example about bank details or early-payment discount. Order confirmation and invoice take over the payment term. Optionally the payment method adds a surcharge that you define as an amount or percentage. The checkout works in the Hyvä theme without an additional library and follows the structure of your checkout.

  • Payment term in days, also per customer group
  • Custom note per store view
  • Optional surcharge as amount or percentage

04Control in the admin

Blocking and open items in Magento 2 Pay by Invoice

On the customer account you see how much invoice volume is open and block or allow a customer with a switch. As soon as an invoice is marked as paid, the open amount decreases again. An overview lists customers who have reached the limit. All changes to the customer are logged with time and admin user.

  • Open amount visible on the customer account
  • Block or release per customer
  • Log with admin user and time

Where Magento 2 Pay by Invoice helps in daily shop work

Typical situations between sales and risk.

Delimitation

Delimitation from payment restriction and cash on delivery fee

The payment restriction module from Mironsoft hides any payment methods by rules without supplying a payment method. The cash on delivery fee concerns another payment method. Magento 2 Pay by Invoice, by contrast, brings the invoice payment method itself, including limit, payment term, open-item logic and customer block.

A credit check with a credit agency is not included. Legal questions about purchase on account, receivables management and data protection should be clarified with your legal adviser; the review lies with the shop operator.
