Magento 2 decimal places: why price display is more than cosmetics
How a price looks affects trust and clarity. A building materials dealer needs three decimals for the per-meter price, a premium seller wants round amounts without .00, and a shop with several markets needs a different notation per language and currency. Magento 2, however, defines decimal places only globally via the currency and knows no differences per store view or product group. This page covers Magento 2 decimal places in detail.
The Price Decimal Format module changes that. You set Magento 2 decimal places in the admin, separated by store view, currency, category or attribute value. The change affects display only: price calculation, taxes and amounts passed to payment providers remain untouched. Set Magento 2 decimal places per store view and currency
In the configuration you set per store view and currency how many Magento 2 decimal places are shown and which separators apply. A German store view shows 1.299,00 €, a British one 1,299.00 £. When no rule exists, the Magento default format applies.

Meter goods, bulk goods and liquids
Prices per meter, kilogram or liter with three decimals make small differences between variants visible without changing the price in the catalog.
Premium shops with round amounts
Whole amounts without trailing zeros look calmer. Hiding can be limited to listings, the product page keeps showing the exact amount.

Differentiation from related Mironsoft modules
Price Decimal Format controls only the look of prices. If you additionally have to state the price per kilogram or liter, you use the Base Price module for the unit price, the two modules complement each other without overlap. A price history or the lowest price of the last 30 days is the job of the Omnibus Price Tracker.
Price rules and discounts stay with Magento itself. Magento 2 decimal places changes nothing there, it merely formats the result.
