A reserved number that never became an order
Magento already reserves an order ID when checkout starts. If the process then aborts — due to a payment gateway error, a server timeout, or a checkout bug — that number goes unused, even though the customer may already have paid and received a confirmation. Missing Orders detects exactly these gaps in the number sequence and surfaces them instead of letting them silently disappear.
