Magento 2 back in stock notification: win customers back when the item returns
The Magento 2 back in stock notification from Mironsoft Back in Stock Notification shows a sign-up field on the product page of an unavailable item. Customers enter their email address, confirm it via double opt-in and automatically receive a message as soon as the product can be ordered again. A lost sale becomes a predictable returning customer.
The Magento 2 back in stock notification is also an early indicator for your purchasing. The demand report in the admin counts how many customers sign up per product. An item with many sign-ups deserves a reorder before others, and you see it before revenue is lost.
The module is built for Hyvä Themes; the form runs on Alpine.js and submits without a page reload. Dispatch runs via cron and can be throttled so your mail server is not overloaded. We set it up in your shop and agree texts and thresholds with you.
From sold out to a pre-registered contact
The Magento 2 back in stock notification catches buying interest when the item is missing and gets in touch only when it is truly available again.
Sign-up on the product page
Instead of a dead button, a short form with email field and privacy notice appears.
Guest or customer
Logged-in customers see their address prefilled; guests type it in once.
Double opt-in
Only after a click on the confirmation link does the subscription count as valid.
Salable quantity check
Dispatch starts only when the salable quantity exceeds your threshold, not as soon as stock is 1 with reservations pending.
One-time dispatch with unsubscribe
Every subscription triggers exactly one email, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
Demand report
See in the admin for which products how many customers are signing up.
Magento 2 back in stock notification: the form on the product page
When a product is not salable, the form replaces the buy button. It consists of an email field, a required checkbox linking to your privacy policy and a submit button. Submission runs without reloading the page, and the success message appears right below.
For configurable products, customers sign up for the selected variant. If only one size is sold out, buying the other sizes stays unaffected.
- Email prefilled for logged-in customers
- Required checkbox for the privacy policy
- Sign-up per variant for configurable products
Confirmation by link, unsubscribe in every email
After submitting, the customer receives an email with a confirmation link. Only then does the subscription become active. This protects against foreign addresses and documents consent with a timestamp. Every availability email contains an unsubscribe link that works without login.
Unconfirmed subscriptions expire after the period you set. The deletion period for completed subscriptions is adjustable too, so no addresses stay longer than necessary. The module does not replace a legal review of your texts.
- Confirmation email with timestamp in the database
- Unsubscribe by link without a customer account
- Automatic deletion of unconfirmed sign-ups
Dispatch by cron as soon as the item is salable
A cron run regularly checks whether products with open subscriptions are salable again. The salable quantity counts, meaning stock minus reservations, along with your minimum stock as the threshold. Only then are emails sent, in batches that you limit per run.
If the product is already sold out again when the customer clicks, because many customers react at once, they see the notice on the product page and can subscribe again. No artificial reserving takes place.
- Threshold: minimum stock per product or global
- Throttling: maximum emails per cron run
- One-time dispatch per subscription
The demand report for purchasing and range planning
In the admin a report shows which products have how many confirmed subscriptions. You sort by sign-ups, filter by period and export the list. That shows which items to reorder first and which demand remains despite being sold out.
For discontinued items you read the report the other way round: if hardly anyone is waiting, a reorder is not worth it.
- Number of confirmed and open subscriptions
- Period filter and sorting
- Export for purchasing
